Mechanical seals are frequently used instruments, so great attention should be paid to model selection. What requirements should be paid to when selecting mechanical seals?
1. Requirements of mechanical seal on machine accuracy (taking mechanical seal for pump as an example)
(1) The maximum radial runout tolerance of shaft or shaft sleeve shall not exceed 0.04 ~ 0.06mm.
(2) The axial movement of rotor shall not exceed 0.3mm.
(3) The maximum runout tolerance of the positioning end face combined with the sealing cavity and its end cover to the shaft or shaft sleeve surface shall also not exceed 0.04 ~ 0.06mm.
2. Confirmation of seals
(1) Confirm whether the installed seal is consistent with the required model.
(2) Before installation, carefully compare with the general assembly drawing to see if the number of parts is complete.
(3) For the mechanical seal with parallel coil spring rotation, because its spring can rotate left and right, it shall be selected according to the rotation direction of its rotating shaft
1. Determine whether the sealing structure is balanced or unbalanced, single end face or double end face, etc., which can be selected according to the pressure of the sealing cavity.
2. Determine whether to adopt rotary type or static type, fluid dynamic pressure type or non-contact type, and select the type according to its working speed.
3. Determine the friction pair and auxiliary sealing materials, so as to correctly select the mechanical seal cycle protection systems such as lubrication, flushing, heat preservation and cooling, according to their temperature and fluid properties.
4. According to the effective space for installing the seal, it is determined to adopt multi spring, single spring, wave spring, internal or external.
